Day 4

The last few days have been great! I have had more energy and just wanted to get out and do more, rather than sleep a lot. The meal replacements actually taste great. The chocolate one is my favourite, the banana one reminds me of banana paddle pops, the vanilla one reminds me of those vanilla wafer sticks I used to eat by the tin full, the strawberry one is like strawberry milk. I dont like caramel so I didnt buy that one and apparently there is a caffe late one, but I dont like coffee either so I didnt buy it. For dinner I have been having vegetables (carrot, brocoli and cauliflower) and either 200g of tuna, or 200g dry fried pork without the fat. There are some recepies in the CSIRO "Meals for Living Simply Well" that came with the Impromy welcome pack, that I want to try. We shall see if I get adventurous in the kitchen haha.

I really didnt want to go to the gym today, I kept making up excuses in my head about why I shouldnt/couldnt go. I didnt want the muscle pain for the next few days. However I dragged myself to the gym and into the Step class. It was fun and although I dont use the step for half of the class and I cant squat, I kept going. When they did squats, I marched etc. Every now and then the instructor would look at me and nod and once she even said "good girl" when I kept doing my own thing while the rest of the class were doing things I couldnt do with my knees. She had told me before the class started, to give her my best and just keep moving when I cant do her moves.

So yeah it was a good session at the gym after all of that!!! Cant wait to weigh in next week. I cant use the chemist scales until next Tuesday unfortunately. I think that will be day 10.

Day 1

Horrible day 1 photos below! I am 183cm and 152.4kg (BMI 45.5). I am wearing a size 24 top and size 28 shorts. My blood pressure was 113/81, my cholesterol was 5.3 and blood sugar was 6.0.

With Impromy there are 3 stages: Motivate, Advance and Sustain. I am currently on Motivate #8 which means that due to my BMI, it has figured out that I need 1 balanced meal, 4 shakes, 3 snacks per day. This way I will be full from the shakes and not hungry all of the time.

The shakes come in Chocolate, Strawberry, Vanilla and Caramel flavour and there are two soups, one Chicken and one Vegetable.

I just had the chicken soup for lunch. I am not much of a soup person, but it was actually nice! Also, I think I am full!

Protein balls & dinner diary

I ended up trying these protein balls as a snack this afternoon. They are a bit dry, have them with a glass of water, and eat them slowly. I ate two of them over a few hours and left one for "dessert".

Michelle Bridges Cherry Coconut Protein Bites ($2-$3 from Woolworths):

For dinner I had veggies mixed with a 90g can of tuna. I think I should have had a second bowl? But then not sure if thats just over eating? So I stuck with 1 bowl.

As someone who binge eats (doesnt throw up), I never know when I am full. I eat when I am bored and as a comfort/emotional thing. I eat and eat until either I cant be bothered eating, I cant afford to eat, or I feel guilty about how much I ate. So I am not really sure if I am full, hungry, or if I am bored....

Looking forward to tomorrow, day 1 of Impromy journey.

Intro

Hey! I am Michelle, a 28 year old single mum to my 2 year old boy. I am starting my Impromy journey tomorrow, as I had to wait to have an appointment at my local chemist (boo they wouldnt let me sign up yesterday 10 minutes before closing time haha). I am 6ft tall and am approx 155-160kg, which annoys me as I was 160kg on the day I gave birth, with my baby and the placenta still inside me. I couldnt find any independent reviews of Impromy, so hopefully starting this blog will be kind of a review.

I have always lost and regained the weight (plus more). I am so sick of it! Hopefully if I lose enough, I will be able to actually do more so then I will keep the weight off? Fingers crossed!

Yesterday I finished off the ham and swiss cheese (as I love a good ham and cheese toastie), and today I gave my mum the last of my chocolate stash, I also went to the shops and bought a couple of Celebrity Slim chocolate shakes to get me started before my Impromy appointment tomorrow.

I have been on the biggest loser shakes before and lost 10kg in 9 or 10 weeks. The main reason I quit was because I as sick of the shakes and introduced new food, I quit my job and didnt have access to decent scales anymore, and since I quit my job I didnt have the money to buy shakes or keep any healthy eating going. I was sick of weighing my food! This time, I have a regular income and with Impromy I get to use the chemists scales (they go up to 250kg), the joining fee is one off for life (compared to the payments on the biggest loser website, or the promocodes in the shakes boxes), and I'll have the chemist to face all the time to see how my weight is going.

I had a Celebrity Slim chocolate shake before writing this, I feel really full now. Hopefully this will kickstart the kickstart! First weigh-in tomorrow!!
